Your website is often the first impression a potential client gets. And for most small business websites, that impression is: slow, confusing, and hard to contact. Here's what's actually costing you business.

It loads in over 3 seconds

Google's data has been consistent for years: over 3 seconds, over half your mobile visitors leave. This is usually caused by unoptimized images, cheap shared hosting, or a bloated WordPress theme with 40 plugins. None of these are hard to fix.

It doesn't work on mobile

Over 60% of local business searches happen on mobile. If your site requires pinching and zooming to read the text, or the buttons are too small to tap accurately, you're turning away more than half your potential contacts.

Nobody can find your phone number

This sounds obvious, but it's the most common issue we see. Your phone number should be visible without scrolling on every page. If someone has to hunt for it, a percentage of them won't bother.

It says nothing specific

Generic copy — "We provide quality solutions to meet your needs" — tells visitors nothing. What do you do, specifically? For whom? In what area? The more specific your copy, the more trust you earn from the people who are actually a fit for your business.

The fix isn't always a rebuild

Sometimes targeted changes — image optimization, mobile CSS fixes, a contact button in the header — recover most of the lost traffic without a full rebuild. Sometimes the site is too far gone and starting over is faster and cheaper. We can usually tell the difference in a 20-minute review.
